series of storms to sweep through northern california is here. we have live team storm coverage. let's begin with our meteorologist lisa argen who is tracking the storm will live doppler 7 hd. >> good morning, everyone. your eye goes right to the red and this is where it is draped from the sacramento valley back to clear lake and windsor and santa rosa. the back edge has been pushing through ukiah and with it the very gusty winds preceding the gusts. we have wind gusts up to 51 miles an hour at the airport, 38 miles an hour winds from hayward. a little lighter but still at the higher elevations you are seeing 63 miles an hour wind gusts down to about 2,000 feet down in the south bay. here's the north bay. look at the heavy rain from richmond, martinez and berkeley, now pushing into the east bay. and 580 and back westward. 280 in san francisco. not only looking it he rain but gusty winds. lighter rains into fremont and union city and the south bay. this will all continue to increase throughout the day. the first half of the day looking much, much different than the second half. caroly

the gulf of alaska pushing into northern california for tuesday and wednesday. we are seeing temperatures in the morning just in the 20s and highs in the afternoon in the low 50s , but first, we have to deal with this rain. 11:00 p.m., notice most of the rain pushing to the south in the overnight. 6:00 a.m. still rain in the east day and south bay, but things already begining to lighten up. a few scattered light showers through noon and then relatively dry conditions. then tuesday, we have another weak system coming down the coast, but most of this rain will stay offshore. still a chance for a shower tuesday. and again maybe even a thunderstorm coming through briefly. temperatures tonight and into tomorrow morning, coolest north bay, mid 40s here, definitely not as cold. same for the east bay. as we go into the afternoon, look for mid to upper 50s , low 60s for the south bay with partly to maybe even mostly sunny skies at times. and here's the 7-day around the bay. so this week will be pretty interesting. tuesday and wednesday, blustery, cool. especially in the morning. look at the inla

, also light. mainly--light. the satellite and radar showing northern california moisture this plume that continues to push that will continue to be responsible for the system tomorrow. there is a secondary system forming. the tail end of that will push for northern california. this will go towards sunday. as we look at futurecast spotty showers. hit or miss. not exactly where they will be but just keeping your umbrella and the would be a good idea and while that might be nice we could use that dry weather i do not think it is going to happen. it could continue. that will move in after midnight. heavy rainfall through 6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. at the rainfall will stall over the north bay and concentrated. and pressing south of the golden gate. there is even a flawed watch in effect for the north bay, the san mateo, with a flood watch. because of thatfall totals near what we saw today with over 3 in. in the valleys. that is where the flood watch is in effect and the wind will be gusting. 60 m.p.h. the sierras, not much snowfall to is the highest elevations with about nine dozen feet. all

. if you are doing any traveling around northern california we are getting a lot of reports of fog in the central valley so sacramento, may see delays by sacramento airport. by the way, sfo no delays at all, not expecting any throughout the day. it's looking good over by san bruno. lake tahoe good day to make a trip out towards the mountains. it's free and clear. only chain requirements now on highway 50, interstate 80 no need to bring those chains. but once again, tomorrow could be a different story. highs later on this afternoon mainly in the low to mid-50s. 52 in milpitas. 54 mountain view. kind of a similar story for the east bay numbers. looks like 52 in concord, 50 out in antioch and brentwood and closer to the bay hugging the bay warmer, berkeley, alameda looking at low it mid- 50s. sausalito and kentfield 52 by this afternoon. here's your forecast over the next several days. dry today and then that unsettled weather returns friday into saturday. by friday afternoon, that's when we get hit with wet weather and then we are drying out sunday through new year's day so if you ha

and another off to the west. all of northern california gets here, tomorrow night. about the same timing as last night after sunset but all day long on sunday it's going to be a soaker as it moves through. how much rainfall? it's color-coded. purple i 2" of rain. most of the bay area getting another 2" of rainfall with the north bay getting another 3 or more inches of rainfall that could be a problem because now the ground is saturated. so tomorrow scattered showers nothing too heavy. heavy rain tomorrow night. most of sunday looks wet. but we'll be much drier and we deserve a break next week. mid-60s tomorrow. it will be humid and we'll have scattered showers out there until that heavy rain returns on sunday. then next week, there will be a few showers on tuesday and wednesday. but nothing like what we went through this morning. and what we will go through tomorrow. so we'll have to watch things and see how the rivers and small streams play out. bottom line the ground -- the sponge is full. so the water has nowhere to go. it's on the weekend so no commute to deal with. saturday and sund
